Islam is Positivity

All praise is due to Allah SWT, Lord of the worlds, The Cherisher, The Sustainer.
May peace and blessings be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad
, his noble family, his companions and all those who follow their guidance till the Day of Qiamah.

Alhamdulillah, we thank Allah SWT for the blessings of Jummah and for allowing us to gather here today.

We remind ourselves to fear Allah SWT as He should be feared. Fear Allah in all places and in all situations, in public and in private, and do not transgress His limits.

Respected brothers and sisters;

Our life in this dunya is full of making decisions. Every single day we have to make decisions, some easy, some difficult, for example at home, at work, and at the mosque. Sometimes we make mistakes in our judgment and we feel regret.

Alhamdulillah, Islam is a religion of positivity. As believers in Allah SWT, if anything should befall us, which may seem bad or negative, we should not let it shake our Iman.

Instead, we should quickly seek help and refuge in Allah Al Samaad ٱللَّهُ ٱلصَّمَدُ (The Eternal Refuge).

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, said:

"The Messenger of Allah  said: 'The strong believer is better and more beloved to Allah than the weak believer, although both are good. Strive for that which will benefit you, seek the help of Allah, and do not feel helpless.

If anything befalls you, do not say, "if only I had done such and such"; rather say, "Qaddarullahi wa masha a fa 'ala قَدَرُ اللَّهِ وَمَا شَاءَ فَعَلَ (Allah has decreed and whatever He wills, He does)."

For (saying) 'If' opens (the door) to the deeds (work) of Satan.'"

Imam Al-Nawawi, may Allah have mercy on him, said, “‘It opens the way for the work of Satan’ means he casts into the heart opposition to the Divine Decree and Satan tempts him with it.”

Therefore, respected brothers and sisters;

Even in difficult situations, whether in our family life, financial or health situation, never let the Shaitan whisper doubts or negativity in our hearts.

Allah SWT wants us to avoid negative thoughts about His decree.

Do not say 'what if I did this, or what if I said that'. Everything that has already happened to us was by the Qadr of Allah SWT, exactly according to His Plan.

Let us move forward and do not let past decisions drag us down. If we commit any previous sin, InshaAllah Allah SWT will forgive us. Fight the feelings of despair and hopelessness which come from the Shaitan.

We should focus on the present and continue to work hard to improve our relationship with Allah SWT; do more good deeds than yesterday, make more dua and seek Allah's help in everything we do.

In addition, do not worry too much about the future; stay positive and leave the future results to Allah SWT, the Most Kind, the Most Merciful.

We ask Allah SWT for guidance and forgiveness, to make our Iman strong, and to rectify our situation. Ameen.

Second khutbah:

Dear respected brothers & sisters;

Our Salah is a very precious connection with Allah SWT, and Shaitan will continue to disturb us, even when we are in our Salah.

Abu al-‘Ala’, may Allah be pleased with him, reported:

Uthman ibn al-‘As came to the Prophet  and he said, “O Messenger of Allah, Satan interferes between me, my prayer, and my recitation, confusing me.”

The Prophet ﷺ said, “Such is Satan, who is called Khanzab (or rotten). When you sense him, then seek refuge in Allah from him and spittle (dry spit) to your left three times.”

Uthman said, “I did so and Allah took him away from me.”

We ask Allah SWT to give us complete concentration in our Salah, to accept our Salah, Dua and all our ibadah.

May Allah SWT give us tawfiq to benefit from what has been shared today. Ameen.

Dua:
